Compensation: Benchmarked commensurate with skills and ability

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position supervises all employees, facilitators, and volunteers in the Wellness Center, goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with the company’s plans and vision.

General Summary:

The Wellness Center provides is responsible for the overall coordination and administration of all aspects of the Wellness Program and onsite professional services to promote healthier physical, mental, and emotional wellness of the formerly homeless living at Gospel Village. The Wellness Center Director aims to provide intakes gathering information pertaining to the needs of every resident, helping program participants thrive from a bio-psycho-social standpoint. Via psychoeducation, healthcare navigation, and advocacy for the residents they will obtain both preventative and necessary treatments. The Director of the Wellness Center facilitates the navigation of various crucial support necessary to assist residents to thrive, achieve their goals, and continue their journeys in healing.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Plan and implement the overall activities, short and long term goals of the program in accordance with the mission and the strategic goals of the organization

  • Develop a program evaluation to assess the strengths of the program and to identify areas for improvement

  • Assist in seeking and developing funding proposals to ensure the continuous delivery of services

  • Ensure that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of Gospel, Inc.

  • Develop forms and maintenance of records to document program activities

  • Oversee collection and maintenance of records on clients of the program for statistical purposes according to the confidentiality/privacy policy of the organization

  • Build working relationships, solve problems, and support patients while assisting navigation of care

  • Identification of client preferences/needs, and any barriers to care plan implementation or goal attainment

  • Create care plans with each program partcipant, regularly review and follow up with program participant progress towards goals

  • Recruit, interview, select volunteers for the programs

  • Work closely with partner agencies, contracted onsite staff, Gospel, Inc. staff and volunteers for appropriate program activities using established volunteer management practices

  • Communicate with participants and other stakeholders to gain community support for the program and to solicit input to improve and grow programs

  • Liaise with other managers and Gospel, Inc. staff to ensure effective and efficient program delivery

  • Ensure programs operate within their respective approved budgets

  • Comply with funding contracts/agreements

  • Identify and evaluate the risks associated with program activities and take appropriate action to control the risks

  • Report evaluation findings to the Executive Director and recommend changes to enhance the program, as appropriate

  • Track and report on pre/post evidence based data and maintain monthly tracking of partner agencies

  • Complete monthly narrative for funders (Baycare)

  • Participate in conference planning committee and maintain software data entry via HMIS with HCPC (Homeless Coalition of Polk County)

  • Maintain relationships with other community organizations and leaders to look for collaborative opportunities

  • Monitor program participant no shows monthly and work with Case Management team regarding any client issues related

  • Provide ongoing group and individual health education

  • Maintain spreadsheets for each program

  • Train all new hires on transportation policy and safety (if applicable)

  • Participate in all required meetings including weekly staff meetings

  • Oversee maintenance and cleanliness of Wellness Center

  • Assist with other departments and day to day operations as needed

  • Maintain frequent communication with offsite partners

  • Develop and facilitate staff trainings

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS:

  • BA or BS degree minimum, Master of Art & Science

  • Excellent verbal and written communication as well as organization skills

  • Great interpersonal and relationship building skills

  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills; easily adapt to change

  • Prior marketing, program management and public speaking experience a MUST

  • Knowledge of wellness, health, and chronic illness within the homeless population and/or issues related to program

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)

  • Positively influence/model for others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the organization and program.

  • Willing to enhance knowledge of wellness and evidence-based programming

  • Academic Research knowledge and/or experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat, wet/humid, dry/arid conditions

  • Sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, occasional climbing and ability to lift up to 35 pounds with ease

  • Walking and standing on uneven surfaces while on different campuses
