Candlelight Vigil

  • Gospel Village 1111 E Main Street Lakeland, FL 33801 (map)

December 21st is the night we remember those who continue to live on the streets in uninhabitable conditions. The night is the winter solstice and the longest night of the entire year.

Night is the hardest part of the day for the homeless. During the dark hours of night, a homeless person has a greater chance of becoming a victim of theft or abuse. Many homeless have to navigate the dark to find safe spaces to rest and secure the few items they own.

On this night, we will honor those who have passed away and remember the homeless who continue to live on the streets of Polk County.

Please join us at our covered pavilion as we host a candlelight vigil to remember the homeless in our community.
